Reading.  

At Summerfield Primary, reading is at the heart of our curriculum.

Below is a document focussing on the different fiction and non-fiction books we read across our curriculum.

In KS1, the children learn how to read using Read Write Inc. In KS2, we study novels, non-fiction books and poetry in our reading sessions. We anaylse the texts using VIPERS.

 World Book Day 2020

We had a fantastic day for World Book Day 2020. Every class, from Nursery to Year 6, studied and enjoyed the book 'Flotsam' and produced brilliant writing and art work to match.

All the children came to school in their pyjamas with their teddies and blankets for our 'Bedtime Story Session' at the end of the day. Every child in school enjoyed their favourite story while drinking hot chocolate and marshmallows.
