Summerfield Primary School

Flourishing Families will be in school on Thursday, completing a cooking course with some of our parents/carers and children. This is a 6 week programme.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Christmas Fayre. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Our EYFS concert is taking place at 2.15pm on Monday the 9th of December.

KS1 Christmas performance is on Wednesday the 11th at 2.30pm.

Our Y6 children and some of our Year 5 children are on their Residential to Herd Farm from Monday the 9th until Wednesday the 11th.

On Monday the 16th of December our Year 5 children will be ice skating at Ice Cube.

We have a special assembly on the 16th- Elf on the Streets- this relates to our sponsored 'Elf Run' on Wednesday the 18th.

Year 3 are at Pudsey Civic on Tuesday the 17th in the morning. They will be watching 'The Snowman'  and a live orchestra will be performing.

On Tuesday the 17th of December our KS2 children will be performing their Christmas Concert at St. Thomas' church at 2.15pm.

Our Christmas dinner day is on the 18th of December - children can wear Christmas jumpers on the day also.

We have a special 'Road Safety Pantomime' on Thursday the 19th of December for our children.

The last day of this half term is Friday the 20th of December 2024.  We return to school on Monday the 6th of January 2025.

Wrap Around Care Breakfast amp Sunshine Club

Summerfield’s Wrap Around Care

At Summerfield Primary School we offer a range of extended services to parents/carers, including breakfast club and an after school childcare for children in nursery to year 6.  Both clubs are run and staffed by dedicated school staff, who create a warm and inviting environment filled with well-planned activities and positive play opportunities for all children.  

Children are encouraged to mix and share activities.  On offer are a variety of toys, games, arts & crafts and opportunities for quiet time e.g. reading, completing homework.

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club is a great start to the day for our children, who can spend time with friends and have the opportunity to eat breakfast with them too.

The club is based in the school hall and operates from 7.30am until class starts. Children will be escorted by staff to their classrooms for their registration marks.

We offer a variety of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and toast with spreads.  A drink of juice, fresh fruit juices, or water is also available to the children.

Sunshine Club (After School Club)

This club is located in the Summerfield Hub and runs from the end of school until 5.15pm, Monday to Friday.

The children have some time to unwind, relax or play for the first hour.  Each day the children have access to a piece of fruit and a biscuit, along with a drink of water, milk or juice.   Children attending after 4.15pm will also receive a snack of; hot dog, a jam/chicken/ham sandwich, cheese on toast, toast with spreads, crackers with jam/cheese, or beans on toast.  They can then continue to enjoy their time at the club with their friends until parents/carers collect.

For both clubs we ask that a booking form is completed prior to the first session, this can be downloaded on the links below, or from the school office.

Children who already attend either of the clubs need to re-apply for a place for the new school year.

Payment Information

Payment of Breakfast Club and Sunshine Club can be made on the day, weekly, or in advance.   Please note, we can only accept CASH payments which can be handed into the office staff or a member of the breakfast/after school club.  Please ensure money is in a sealed envelope with your child/children’s name on the front with the amount paying.  Payment is expected for all booked places, failure to pay will result in you losing your place.

Should you find yourself in financial difficulties and struggling to pay your fees, please get in touch as soon as possible. We can arrange a payment plan and allow extra time.

In the event of unpaid fees, we are required to ask Leeds City Council to act on our behalf, and if necessary serve legal action. Should this happen we will then be unable to offer Wrap Around Care or any form of credit in the future.

·  Children must be collected on time.

·  Payment of fees should be promptly made.

·  If you are unable to collect your child and intend to send someone else, it is essential that you let us know and set a password.

·  Your child must follow the club and school rules.
